ToolBrainy provides free browser-based tools for everyday tasks. Most of what you do on this site stays entirely on your device — we built it that way on purpose. This page explains the full picture: what we collect, why, and how.
When you use tools like the Word Counter, PDF Merger, BMI Calculator, or any other tool on ToolBrainy, your text, files, and data are processed locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. We do not see, store, or have access to what you process.
If you contact us, we receive the name, email address, country, and message you provide. We use this only to respond to you and retain messages for up to 12 months.
Like most websites, we collect basic, non-identifying information through analytics: pages visited, time on site, browser type, device type, and approximate location (country/region). This helps us understand which tools people find useful and how to improve the site. IP addresses may be collected temporarily by our web server logs but are not stored in analytics reports.
We use cookies for three things:

ToolBrainy uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites. These are managed through Google's advertising platform.

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the information we handle. All connections to ToolBrainy use HTTPS encryption. Because most tools operate entirely within your browser, the data you process is never transmitted to our servers and is not accessible to us. Contact form submissions are stored only in our email system and are not shared with third parties.
Analytics data is retained for 26 months (Google Analytics 4 default). Contact messages are kept for up to 12 months unless you request earlier deletion. Tool processing data is never retained because it never leaves your browser.
Some pages on ToolBrainy link to external websites. This policy applies only to toolbrainy.com. External sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices.

Legal basis for processing: Analytics data is processed under our legitimate interest in improving our tools. Advertising data is processed on the basis of your consent given through the cookie banner. Data processed by Google Analytics and Google AdSense may be transferred to servers in the United States under Google's standard contractual clauses and data transfer mechanisms.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the following rights:

ToolBrainy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through this site, please contact us so we can remove it promptly.
We may update this policy periodically. Changes are posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
